New Mexican Apaloosa is a gorgeous pole bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) that produces speckled black and white and occasionally red and white beans. Pods can be eaten fresh or left on the vine to mature for shelling. Acquired at 2018 National Heirloom Expo from our friends at Epic Seeds, who pulled them from abandoned seed bank at Ghost Ranch, a historic property in Northern New Mexico. Seeds grown out in our farm in Ojai, California.
New Mexican Apaloosa is an annual crop that requires trellising. Will produce beans for eating within 70 days from seeding under ideal conditions, and dry beans for cooking within 90 days.
