A perennial bunchgrass (Phalaris arundinacea) used as cover crop for building soil organic matter, weed suppression, and phytoremediation (removal, degradation, or containment of contaminants in soils, sludges, sediments, surface water and groundwater) purposes. Plants typically reach around four feet height but can often grow taller under the right water and nutrient circumstances. Plant this crop judiciously; do not establish in wetlands or areas that receive excessive natural water runoff as it can become invasive.
Approximately six months to establishment from seed. Perennial.
