Tomcat Clover (Trifolium willdenovii) is a perennial, nitrogen fixing plant native to the Western parts of North America with a lilac / purple blossoms. In wild habitats this clover will grow in early winter and flower in the late spring. Plants can reach a little over a half foot tall and foliage is broader leaved and longer than other clover types. Grow for cover crop or beneficial insect attractors. Broad cast seeds during the late winter, or establish out of season by starting seeds in seedling cells and transplanting outdoors in regularly irrigated soil.
