It will bloom year-round in Mediterranean Southern California. Its silky orange flowers are attractive to bees and other pollinators. The entire plant is used medicinally by indigenous peoples of the west. A tea made from the leaves and flowers has known sedative and anti-anxiety effect, along with aiding a troubled sleep.
